This year's conference focused on choosing monitoring goals and protocols, as well as showcasing new monitoring opportunities. The conference provides an environment where you can learn more about current monitoring efforts, network with citizen monitoring colleagues, and celebrate outstanding citizen monitors and programs. Friday's sessions were held at the resort, and Saturday was devoted to short courses. These taxa- and habitat-based short courses were held on the south shore of Devil's Lake State Park located near Devil's Head Resort. Field trips to Baxter's Hollow (a Nature Conservancy property), the International Crane Foundation, and the Aldo Leopold Legacy Center were offered in the afternoon. Course content addressed:
